I've been on Variance for nearly 5 years, and not once did I see a dragon in all that time. Now they're coming out of the woodwork! I met 3 in the last week and a half. The really strange thing is that they all can change shape and assume human form. I still can't get used to the idea that the cute redhead I shared a room with last night happens to be a raking dragon! Yeah, his human form IS kind of cute but it's nothing compared to what he looks like when he makes the shift to a red dragon. That's the part I'm in love with! Well, not love love, but...oh shit, there's no other word that conveys what I really feel when I see a dragon. Being with Sasha and now this new one named Sachiel, makes me miss Solartis more than ever because I'm positive there's a special dragon waiting there to bond with me.

*sighs* No you wouldn't. Trust me. Not if the only person you really cared about spent hours condeming you as a useless, indolent young fool of a fledgling before thrusting the money into your hands and telling you to leave before he changed his mind. *rolls his eyes and mutters a few choice curses under his breath*

What's the big deal about listening to a stupid lecture as long as you get a pile of money at the end of it? Hell, I wouldn't mind lazing around all day listening to bullshit if I knew I'd end up with a reward just for doing the listening!
 | | | Sasha April 19, 2005 11:48 PM PDT
*snorts* Oh yeah, it's reeeeally cool. I have to listen to a three hour long lecture every time I need money. I don't know why I have to have such an uptight jerk for an older brother.
 | | | Mik April 19, 2005 05:18 PM PDT
*laughs* I bet it's really cool having a brother who gives you money whenever you need it. Too bad I don't have anyone like that to rely on.
 | | | Sasha April 18, 2005 11:39 PM PDT
Well... if it's any help, sometimes my brother and I get into big fights. We can not see each other for years at a time. But we always make up eventually. And...er, well, I know it sounds hokey, but I'm pretty sure he'd never forget me, or me him. So you probably don't have anything to worry about. *tries to still look cool and unconcerned while saying that*
 | | | Mik April 18, 2005 04:41 PM PDT
Well I'd like to spend some time with mine to see if want you say is true. *frowns* I bet if they saw me now they wouldn't even recognize me.
 | | | Sasha April 17, 2005 11:42 PM PDT
*frowns* I have an older brother. We got along fine until he kicked me out of his house. But at least he still gives me money, and now I don't have to hang around his boring old ass anymore, either.
*frown deepens* I have an older sister, too, but I don't talk to her much anymore. Honestly, siblings really aren't all they're cracked up to be.
 | | | Mik April 16, 2005 06:29 PM PDT
I'm a year older than one and 3 years older than the other. They spent a lot of time together but not much with me cause I was always busy with my tutors, learning how to be a perfect prince and the next king. *rolls eyes*
What about your brothers and sisters? Do you all get along?
 | | | Sasha April 15, 2005 11:57 PM PDT
*looks slightly surprised* You have brothers? What're they like? A lot younger than you or just a little? *slight smile* I bet they got on your nerves a lot, didn't they?
 | | | Mik April 15, 2005 11:47 AM PDT
Yeah, right now none of that shit means much since I might not even have a world left to rule. *momentary sad look replaced by a quick smile* I can forget about Solartis BUT someday I'd like to try to find out if my younger brothers are still alive. They were sent to alternate worlds too.
 | | | Sasha April 14, 2005 10:08 PM PDT
Because that's what you're instinct's telling you to do. *pokes a finger in his chest* You need to start listening to your instincts, Mik. All that education and instruction and "obligation" crap you had as a kid were just that: crap.
 | | | Mik April 14, 2005 03:04 PM PDT
But...but...*slams his mouth shut and frowns for a moment* I really don't want to be the raking king so why do I feel guilty about liking the idea of ignoring my obligations?
 | | | Sasha April 14, 2005 02:19 AM PDT
*lifts an eyebrow at him* Who the hell cares? Let them rule themselves. Then YOU can live your OWN life.
 | | | Mikael April 13, 2005 10:51 AM PDT
*gives him an exasperated look* To keep the royal line going. If it dies out, who the hell will rule Solartis?
| |
 | | | Sasha April 12, 2005 11:19 PM PDT
*gives him a curious look* Why?
 | | | Mikael April 12, 2005 03:36 PM PDT
I never really gave much thought to having kids. Shit, I'm still a kid myself! *laughs* But I have to produce an heir someday. Got to keep the royal psychic line going you know.
 | | | Sasha April 12, 2005 01:14 PM PDT
*snorts* They force you to have children, too? How awful. *shudders* Blech. I'm never having kids. There are waaay too many Odarins alive in the world as it is.
 | | | Mikael April 11, 2005 03:00 PM PDT
Yeah, the Delvans...er...humans on Solartis multiply like raking rabbits! They might win the war simply because they outnumber everyone else. I wonder why they like to have so many kids when half can't even take care of them properly. I probably wouldn't even have kids if I didn't have to produce an heir.
 | | | Sasha April 10, 2005 11:31 PM PDT
*blinks* Destroy us? How the hell would they do that? *laughs at the very idea* Overpopulate and destroy all the resources so that we starve to death, "maybe" *laughs even more*
 | | | Mikael April 10, 2005 11:20 AM PDT
So they live in fear of getting killed by dragons if they don't follow orders, is that it? I'm surprised they haven't tried to destroy your kind.
 | | | Sasha April 10, 2005 01:36 AM PDT
*laughs* We leave them alone, that's what we do in return for them! *smirks* It's like this: the humans give us their bad citizens, like criminals and beggars and such, and they also give us food and other things we can't grow in the mountains. In exchange, we stay out of their cities, for the most part, and let them govern themselves.
 | | | Mikael April 9, 2005 03:58 PM PDT
As they give us tithes and servants? What's that supposed to mean? What do you give them in return?
| |
 | | | Sasha April 9, 2005 01:29 PM PDT
*shrugs again* I've on idea how the mortals govern themselves. Some people find that sort of thing really interesting, but I don't. So long as they give us tithes and servants, I could care less how they run their cities.
 | | | Mikael April 9, 2005 11:25 AM PDT
We didn't "enslave" anyone! It's just a fact that the Solars are more intelligent and have longer life spans so it makes sense for them to be the ones in power. What kind of government do you have on your world?
 | | | Sasha April 9, 2005 01:29 AM PDT
*shrugs negligently* Who knows? Besides, it was bad management anyway, enslaving an entire race. You ought to have expected an uprising at SOME point. It's just common sense.
 | | | Mikael April 8, 2005 06:40 PM PDT
Yay! I didn't look at it that way. Those rune casters age pretty fast...maybe the whole damn race will die out soon and then the war will end. *grimaces* But then who the hell we going to get to do all the hard labor?
| |
 | | | Sasha April 8, 2005 04:35 PM PDT
*rolls eyes* You should at LEAST learn to be patient. I thought you said you Solars were a long-lived race! You've ONLY been here for five years, you know. That's hardly any time at all.
 | | | Mikael April 8, 2005 12:56 PM PDT
It's not that I WON'T do it. I don't know HOW to do it. Maybe it's supposed to happen naturally. *shrugs then smirks when he says he's cute* And you're one hell of a funny dragon. *turns serious* I can't give up on going back to Solartis, it's my home. Maybe one day I'll have enough power to open that damn portal back to my world all by myself.
| |
 | | | Sasha April 8, 2005 11:01 AM PDT
Well "I" said I'd bond with you, but you wouldn't do it! Besides, you should get used to the idea of never going back to that Solartis of yours. It's been five years! Sachiel and I might be all the dragons you'll ever get to meet. *smirk*
Oh and by the way, I think you're cute, too. *winks and laughs*
